How can I get from LA (airport) to San Diego

How can I get from LA (airport) to San Diego?
My flight lands in LA around 3 PM. But I need to get to San Diego. Does anyone know how I can get from LA to SD via train/bus. I can't afford the airfare. Thank you for your time!

Look it up on amtrak or greyhound buses

There use to be a daily train (Amtrak) that I always picked up in Fullerton and goes all the way to San Diego. It's been about 5 years since I did that. You would need to find out if that train is still running and where you would pick it up close to LAX. If you were to rent a car, you would get on the 5 Interstate all the way to San Diego. As far as a bus, Greyhound I'm sure runs to San Diego, but you might run into a major time delay with Greyhound.

At LAX from the curb outside the lower level baggage claim area look for a "Green" sign saying "Flyaway & Long Distance Shuttles". Board the "Flyaway / Union Station" bus . They run every 30 minutes on the hour and on the half hour. The fare is $4.00 one way, and the trip is about 45 minutes at that time of day. At Union Station board Amtrak's "Pacific Surfliner" to San Diego. The last one seems to depart at 5:10 pm ( but their online site claims to have 7:00, 8:20 & 10:10 departures also. Their toll free phone number is 1-800-872-7245. Call them, and make sure.). The trip is 2 1/2 hours, and the fare is $29.00 one way. The Los Angeles Greyhound terminal is in a pretty "seedy" part of town so I wouldn't recommend going by bus, except as a last resort, but if you must then follow the above directions, then from Union Station board a "L A Metro" mini shuttle bus for the 1 mile trip to the Greyhound terminal. They run about every 20 minutes, and the fare is $1.25. Hope this helps.

Can you take an opened bottle of Liquor on an Airplane (Southwest)

Can you take an opened bottle of Liquor on an Airplane (Southwest)?
I have a half empty bottle of scotch and a Southwest flight from San Diego to Sacramento. Can I take the bottle with me, or is that illegal? If it's legal, should I put it in my carry-on or my checked luggage? Thanks! Is it legal to put the bottle in my luggage that gets checked in?

Carry on...but I really don't know if it's legal.
2 :
You can not have booze on a plane except for the drinks that they serve.
3 :
no half empty bottles allowed on any flight...anywhere in the world! Only unopened bottles that are being transported in carry-on baggage is allowed but nothing opened!
4 :
No one will know either way, as long as you don't plan on taking it out and drinking it. People come through the checkpoint all the time with bottles of liquor, wine and beer, we say nothing because it's none of our business. Think about this, I've seen a lot of flasks go through the x-ray, knowing there's liquor in them. Considering it's open, I'd take it on the flight with you, if you rather pack it then wrap a good amount of clothing around it so it doesn't get broken. If your worried about TSA taking it, don't, as I said it's none of our business, unless it's above the alcohol proof allowance.

If you are looking for the Cheapest way to get from LAX to SAN, given your heavy luggage and all I'd say there three options: a) Taka a shuttle: The Cheapest, may take longer than driving or flying but you can simply sit down, relax and enjoy the ride. About $50 (see link) b) Rent a Car: If you're familiar with the roads and if you get a good deal, it may be comparable to the shuttle. $40/day (+insurence, +drop-off charge, +tax+other fees)Cons: Traffic and Gas probably adds another $40 to the tab. c) Catch a shuttle Filgth: The most expensive option. $150+. They may charge extra for your heavy bags. Flights between LAX and SAN usually are on turbo-prop planes which have serious weight limitations.

If you can get someone to drop you off at the San Diego Amtrak station, just take the train straight up to LA and get off at Union Station. From there, the Flyaway shuttle will take you straight to the airport. The Flyaway shuttle also provides checking service, so they can take your 2 big bags for you and transfer them directly to the airline.

train. it takes a little bit longer but it is the most convenient and cheapest. the amtrak is the way to go

When we flew to Hawaii a couple of years ago, we just rented a small car. One-way pick up & drop off was cheaper than the shuttles, train, or anything else we could come up with. I think round-trip including gas, we spent less than $90 (Cloud 9 shuttle on the other hand would have been $95 for EACH of us!)

Train...I believe the Amtrak will take you straight there.

Well the issue is cost vs, convenience. The cheapest way to make the trip is to take commuter rail between SD and LA union station by starting on the Coaster train from SD to Oceanside for $5 then taking a Metrolink train to LA union station for about $10. Once at Union station you can take a Flyaway bus directly to LAX for $4. The same would apply for the return trip. If you wanted to spend a bit more you could take an Amtrak train directly from SD to LA and avoid the commuter train transfer requirement in Oceanside but the Amtrak fare is about twice the cost. Good Luck.

okay from san diego take the Amtrak on santa fe on downtown san diego then the amtrak just take you to la then from there just get off on the la train station then from there just take the shuttle or a taxi hope it help =)
