How can I get from LA (airport) to San Diego

How can I get from LA (airport) to San Diego?
My flight lands in LA around 3 PM. But I need to get to San Diego. Does anyone know how I can get from LA to SD via train/bus. I can't afford the airfare. Thank you for your time!

Look it up on amtrak or greyhound buses

There use to be a daily train (Amtrak) that I always picked up in Fullerton and goes all the way to San Diego. It's been about 5 years since I did that. You would need to find out if that train is still running and where you would pick it up close to LAX. If you were to rent a car, you would get on the 5 Interstate all the way to San Diego. As far as a bus, Greyhound I'm sure runs to San Diego, but you might run into a major time delay with Greyhound.

At LAX from the curb outside the lower level baggage claim area look for a "Green" sign saying "Flyaway & Long Distance Shuttles". Board the "Flyaway / Union Station" bus . They run every 30 minutes on the hour and on the half hour. The fare is $4.00 one way, and the trip is about 45 minutes at that time of day. At Union Station board Amtrak's "Pacific Surfliner" to San Diego. The last one seems to depart at 5:10 pm ( but their online site claims to have 7:00, 8:20 & 10:10 departures also. Their toll free phone number is 1-800-872-7245. Call them, and make sure.). The trip is 2 1/2 hours, and the fare is $29.00 one way. The Los Angeles Greyhound terminal is in a pretty "seedy" part of town so I wouldn't recommend going by bus, except as a last resort, but if you must then follow the above directions, then from Union Station board a "L A Metro" mini shuttle bus for the 1 mile trip to the Greyhound terminal. They run about every 20 minutes, and the fare is $1.25. Hope this helps.
