The cheapest way would be by Greyhound bus. ( www.greyhound.com) But be wary of many of the people that ride those buses. There can be some very creepy people on them. I deal with travelers all the time in my current business.

I'm taking my sons on vacation next year. How do I make the flight comfortable for both of them?
One will be 13 months and the other will be 11 and a half years old. Flight from Minnesota to San Diego.

You drug them so they are asleep the whole flight... hahahahaha
2 :
Bring a pacifier for the baby and suckers or gum for the 11-yr-old to help with the altitude change (helps their ears pop to relieve the pressure). Put together a little "activity pack" for them with crayons, coloring books, paper, puzzle books, things for the older child to read, and soft, quiet toys for the little one.

it's hard to make a flight comfortable for a 13 month old b/c there really isn't much you can do for their ear discomfort. just bring plenty of things to keep him distracted and snacks since many airlines charge for snacks now. for the 11 year old, bring chewing gum and some Dramamine. I would suggest a Dramamine a half hour before flying b/c once you get motion sickness, it's hard to get rid of it.

Hmm... Give em some baby benedyral.... they'll fall asleep real fast ahaha
5 :
Schedule your flight for a time of day they are typically sleeping. Take a red eye flight and they should sleep. I did this with my 8 mo. son (like 8 years ago) but we left the west coast at 1A, and arrived into Tampa at like 8A, he was awake when we got on the flight but then he was out within 30 minutes. This is also effective for the long wait at the airport rather than trying to keep everyone calm. You can generally get flights out of MN around 8P or 9P...it will be a lot easier on the return...really late night flights leave from the west coast because of the time zone difference.

If you can afford to do so, get your 13mon old his own seat. I recently flew from Maryland to Florida with my son 20 mon. He slept the entire flight, however with him having his own seat, I was able to carry the car seat on the plane, sit him in it, and have us both comfortable during the flight. Considering he was over 25 lbs. I could not have imagined holding him for 2 hours straight or passing him back and forth between myself and my step-mom. It was most comfortable and least stressful for everyone. I also brought along a portable DVD player, which I used to play movies for my little one, since the plane ride was too short to show a movie.

I have a baby sister so when our parents took her from Los Angeles to Dallas, my mom made sure we have her favorite stuffed toy on hand... plus, my dad brought his protable dvd player so my sister can watch her Teletubbies and Barney while on flight. Since there will be the three of you, it's likely that nobody will be sharing a seat with you so it's okay to watch... just keep the volume reasonable though. As for your 11 year old son, I think he will be fine as long as you let him drag his own favorite too like a Gameboy... It all depends on your children and what their favorite things to do (also known as distraction from the flight). Happy trip!

Flight times are the key! take a late flight then your lil one will sleep! i took my 3 month old fro detroit to London, uk and he slept the whole way for 8 hours because hsi body clock told him it was night time!

Should I book this flight now
Should I book this flight now?
I want to get a flight from San Diego to New York for Thanksgiving which is a horrible time to travel and big cities to travel to/from. I have specific days I'm looking at and times I would prefer. I also would like to go from my closest airport to the closest airport to my destination and I want to go nonstop because its a long trip and I think an extra hour or two will drag me down more. I searched on wednesday and found good prices but then Thursday it went up and I was wondering since I want the flight should I just buy it now or wait until the beginning of next week to check the prices? What is the likelihood of it going down during the beginning of the week?

hurry up and book. the apocalypse is comming next week.

With regards to peak seasons such as Thanksgiving, booking as soon as possible is the only choice. If you are not flexible about your travel dates, that is a second reason to hurry up. Try Travelocity or Lastminute.com : they usually offer the cheapest deals. You find them and some of the most popular booking here: http://www.willgoto.com/1/023798/liens.aspx .

What bars in San Diego show UFC PPV fights
What bars in San Diego show UFC PPV fights?
Looking for a bar in San Diego that shows the UFC flights--notably the upcoming 2 in November (I know the fight on the 11th is on Spike TV, but would like to start watching them at the bar with other fans, as I am a new fan myself.) Thanks!
