What's the cheapest way to get to San Diego from the UK/Ireland?
I'm from Belfast and my friend and I are planning to go to San Diego for two weeks sometime in August. His girlfriend and her friends are over there for 3 months and invited us over for a holiday. However, the flights seem a little expensive! Can anyone advise me what the cheapest way to get there is? I'd imagine we'd have to fly out of Dublin or London. But is it cheaper to fly direct to somewhere in California, or get to New York and get an internal flight to CA? I've been told domestic flights are very cheap in the US. If it's the former, then is there anywhere in CA (or near San Diego) that would work out cheaper to fly to? (we're prepared to get a bus to San Diego). We've looked at direct flights from Dublin/London to San Diego and they're just too pricy. Can't justify paying that much money for a 2 week break. I'd appreciate any help - any advise with regards to airlines and so forth. Cash is tight so we're really looking for the best deal we can. Cheers.

stow away? or, try checking on prices to las vegas, nevada and driving the rest of the way. tickets to vegas are always cheap. direct flights are always more. traveling on wednesdays seems to be cheap for some reason, too. try www.sidestep.com.

take a flight to new york or washington DC and fly domestic into San Diego...that is the best way to go.

In the cost structure of airfares, San Diego Lindbergh Field (SAN) is often considered kind of out-of-the-way. Flying into Los Angeles (LAX) could be an option. The routing you want will be the Pacific Surfliner, and it runs several times a day.

I'm taking a flight from D.C. to San Diego. If I take a chicken sandwich to eat in the plane,
I'm taking a flight from D.C. to San Diego. If I take a chicken sandwich to eat in the plane,?
do you think it will spoil? Basically, my flight is at 6 pm but i will go to the airport around 3pm. But i won't be eating the sandwich until i'm actually on the flight, which will be around 8 pm. Therefore, the chicken sandwich will be in my bag for 5 hours. Will it spoil? Thanks.

Just don't let it get warm. San Diego, yay! You should go to Kojak's on Mission Beach. It's got crazy food.

no, but if there is some sauce on it, it may taste nasty cuz it will be warm.

Are you travelling as an un-accompanied baby or a brainless twit? If anyone has any luck since last week you will have your sandwich (spoiled or not) shoved down your face by an out of patience TSA "representative". Glad you're not sitting next to me honey buns.

It will taste weird being out of a cool refrigerator, not to mention the bad microbes and bacteria that will use the sandwich as a medium to grow on. Take something that's made for lugging around an airport like a bag of chips or fruit or something else.

most of all cases of food poisoning are from chicken (FACT) any meat product is best kept refrigerated, at room temperature cold meats very quickly spoil and are deemed unsafe to eat!!!
