Hazel and emily fly from alantic to san diego. The flight from atlantic to san diego is against the wind and ?
takes 4 hr. The return flight with the wind takes 3.5 hr. If the wind speed is 40 mph , find the speed of the plane in still air. Show the equation to get the answer

The distance travelled is certainly the same in each case, call it D. You know that the distance travelled will be the speed multiplied by the time. Call the plane's speed in still air V. When you're going against the wind, the speed that the plane makes over the ground is V-40, when it's going with the wind, it will go V+40. Then you can set up two equations: D = (V-40) x 4 D = (V+40) x 3.5 You can set these two equations equal to each other and solve for V.

There is NO airport to serve commercial schedule airline in Kansas City, KS. You must go in the other side of the river in Kansas City, MO.

All airports have a 3 letter code. The Kansas city airport in Kansas is KCK -Kansas City Fairfax. Use this code when looking for flights so you do not get MO. Good LK!!

There is nothing wrong with flying into Kansas City, Missouri. Kansas City, Kansas is only a fifteen minute drive from the airport. Two airlines serve SAN and MCI nonstop and they are Midwest and Southwest. I am flying from MCI to SAN on July 1st with Midwest and I cannot wait for the flight. You can get pretty cheap flights between SAN and MCI. Mine only cost me $200.00. Can't beat that.

What service will give me the best travel deal for a flight + hotel + car from San Jose to San Diego

What service will give me the best travel deal for a flight + hotel + car from San Jose to San Diego?
Travelocity? Orbitz? Expedia? Something else. I'm not willing to take just any hotel or flight. I want to be able to specifically pick from certain hotels and room types.

No, I'm afraid there aren't any airlines who operate direct flights between Paris and San Diego. The cheapest ones are with U.S.-based carriers, and they have you changing in the States (Dallas, Denver, and New York are popular spots.) So here's what you can do: you can take one of those and deal with the connection, or you can fly into Los Angeles (LAX) as you mentioned. United, Air France, Delta, and Air Tahiti Nui all operate non-stop flights from Charles de Gaulle to LAX. From there, it's about a two hour drive to San Diego; if you rent a car at the airport, it's a fairly easy journey (and it's probably easier to do that part of the trip by car, rather than train.) You could also hop on a quick flight from LAX down to San Diego (check Southwest for cheap fares), but at that point, you might as well just drive or go for the connecting flight from Paris to San Diego in the first place, since you can book it all at once. Also, do be warned that a non-stop flight will likely be more expensive than one with a connection. The choice is yours! Hope this helps -- have a wonderful trip, whatever you end up doing. And do ask if you have any more questions. --Holly
