it depends on the season, and whether or not you are going one way or round trip.

Not really. The route is not covered by low cost operators. Only two competing companies that mostly fly turbprops with the rare regional jet covering the route. The average fare is usually double or triple that of flying San Diego to a major airport like San Fran, Oakland, Santa Anna, Phoenix, or Vegas. ---------- Southwest currently flies a 133 mile daily flight in Florida. They could take over the 125 mile flight from SAN to LAX and it would be much more efficient for the overtaxed runways in both airports and cheaper for the customers. However, the majors won't give up the little planes that shuttle back and forth at great expense simply because they want to offer San Diego passengers a connection to LAX so they can fly international. As a result it is the busiest route in the country (measured by planes per day). ====== If you want cheap, take the airport bus to the AMTRAK station. There are 11 trains per day.

Check southwest.com sometimes they run cheap flights between cities on the same coast side. Also try looking at sidestep.com, farecast.com, and farecompare.com all these sites check multiple sites for the best deal.
2 :
Try Difli.com Simple to use and What you see is what you get. No Fee gimmicks etc etc. I recently flew from San Francisco to Orlando for 178 RT! Using Difli. I also booked a 3 week vacation through them and for 2 people it cost only $1500 Flight, Hotel and Car

It changes every time an airline has a sale. Here's the current snapshot of available fares for the upcoming 10 months: http://www.farecompare.com/search/year.html?departure=SAN&destination=SEA&cabin=Coach&tripType=roundtrip&nonstops=false&p=1

The best times are Tuesdays just after midnight, that's when airlines usually post their specials. Southwest also has "wanna get away" deals online anytime.

Yes, the RIAA has people at the security checkpoints that scan any electronic device that can hold music files. NOT. No one is going to check your Ipod
2 :
No if they did that then it would take a whole lot longer to get to your destnashion.
3 :
No. I've been on over 15 international business trips. I've taken my ipod 95% of the time- they've never checked it before.
4 :
No, it is not likely that they will check it but they have the right to. I do know of one person who had their IPOD taken away when travelling by land from Canada to the USA. I do not know what the rules are in France but the laws in the USA will allow them to take it away. The thing is, they have to be able to prove they are illegal. Unless they can prove that you don't own a legal copy of each song, you should be fine. (the person I know had a movie that was not out on DVD on their ipod, it make it pretty easy for them to know it was illegal)
